Timeless Flavors
What started as a simple profile quickly became something much more personal.
We visited Solar del Galagos, a family-run restaurant in Lisbon that has been passed down through generations, and what started as a simple profile quickly became something much more personal. During the interview, we could feel how much history, pride, and care lived in that space. By the end, the warmth of the relationship felt almost familial, and that made the story resonate in a way we hadn’t expected.
Our team worked collaboratively throughout the process. We shared the interview, photographed the food, created portraits, and then worked with Jenna on the design. What was especially rewarding was seeing the final piece come together so closely to what we had imagined. Sometimes the story in your head changes completely once you start reporting, but in this case, the feeling we experienced in the restaurant carried all the way through the photos, writing, and layout. It became a story about family, continuity, and the people who give a place its soul.
